Steve Howard
Steve qualified from Glasgow University Veterinary School in 1994 and spent his first few years in private mixed and then small Animal practice. He joined PDSA in 1999 as a veterinary surgeon in the Sheffield PDSA Pet Hospital, then moved to the role of senior vet at the Swansea PDSA Pet hospital, leading that busy charitable practice. In 2009 he moved into his current role as Head of clinical services at PDSA, in this role he is responsible for professional standards and compliance, service definition and quality improvement, utilising clinical governance frameworks, promoting, and raising awareness of pragmatism, and a focus on the responsible use of antibiotics across the charity’s UK-wide veterinary network. Steve has also been Secretary General of RUMA CA&E since its formation, promoting the responsible use of medicines, particularly antibiotics, across the profession.
