After completing her veterinary degree at the University of Pretoria, South Africa, Emma spent 7 years in private small animal practice in the UK. She then completed an ECVCP clinical pathology residency in Vienna in 2012. Emma moved back to South Africa in November 2014 to take up an academic post at the Faculty of Veterinary Science, University of Pretoria, and completed her PhD at the end of 2017. She is currently the Head of the Section of Clinical Pathology, her duties include management of the lab, provision of diagnostic service, undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, and research.
