Having grown up on the edge of the Peak District, Ben has always had a keen passion for being outdoors, inspired through Scouting and early family adventures. After graduating from Sheffield University, Ben spent 7 years outdoor in outdoor education. As a qualified Mountain Leader, climbing, canoeing and caving instructor, Ben remains passionate about promoting the benefits of being in green and blue spaces. Ben’s current role as Head of Access & Environment at PaddleUK, sees him lead a national campaign championing the case for access on rivers and protection of the environment. With two active young sons, outdoor adventures are very different these days, but Ben spends every opportunity he can get road cycling, climbing and paddling.
