Marta Costa
Marta graduated from the Technical University of Lisbon, Portugal. She completed a post-graduation and a MSc in Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, and was a lecturer in Portugal, before moving to Bristol in 2009 to complete a residency in Clinical Pathology. She remained there as a clinical pathologist and later as a lecturer while obtaining FRCPath and ECVCP qualifications. In late 2020 she started at IDEXX as clinical pathologist and deputy head of the UK veterinary microbiology team. Her interests lie in diagnosis of infectious diseases, antimicrobial sensitivity testing, biomarkers use, and all that pertains to a microscope, where she finds beauty every day.
