This course will provide attendees with the same hands-on training needed to fully grasp the kinesthetic concepts of phlebotomy while leveraging their existing skills and building new ones. Covering some A&P, addressing patient prep, and tackling advanced catheter techniques – we’re literally gonna go with the flow.
Attendees will be provided with vein models to practice with during the session and are theirs to keep because as they say, practice makes progress!
Key Learning Objectives:
- Understand basic circulatory system anatomy (Small Animal).
- Know why asepsis is critical in any phlebotomy procedure.
- Recognise which patients would require a DCL or CL & why.
- Learn proper technique for blood draws.
- Learn/develop standard IVC placement techniques.
- Practice distal central line (DCL) & central line (CL) placement.
