Submissions for the BSAVA Clinical Abstracts are now open

Submissions for the BSAVA Clinical Abstracts are now open
Veterinary professionals interested in submitting a clinical abstract (a short research presentation) to the annual BSAVA award scheme can now do so!

Applications are welcome from veterinary surgeons, nurses, practice managers and students, and submissions from those working in general practice are especially encouraged.

Entrants can submit a clinical abstract on any veterinary subject – whether the preliminary results of a new study, a description of an interesting case, or a discussion of a new technique. Each submission should be based on high-quality clinical research undertaken in practice, academia, or industry and summarised in 250 words. The submissions will be peer-reviewed, and successful authors will be asked to present their work to a live audience at BSAVA Congress ’24 in Manchester on the 21-23 March 2024.

This is not just a fantastic opportunity for vet professionals to showcase their research to the global veterinary community but a wonderful chance for delegates to learn about the latest concepts and thinking in veterinary medicine.

The Clinical Abstracts are open to everyone in the profession – so researchers working in the veterinary field are also welcome to submit abstracts. Our ambition is simply to bring together as many new and emerging studies as possible and to celebrate the wonderful work of colleagues across the industry.

Last year’s Clinical Abstract Best Surgery Award winner, Vasileia Logothetou, PgC(SAS) MRCVS, added: “It was an immense honour to win the award… and an unexpected validation of the hard work on our project. The whole experience presenting at BSAVA was fun and exciting, and a great opportunity to socialise with colleagues and friends.”

Anyone interested in learning more will find more information on the Clinical Abstracts here, including a link to some handy submission guidelines and the submission portal.

Entries must be submitted before 20 November, with successful authors notified in January 2024.
