A 4year old dog has been admitted to the veterinary practice. He weighs 20kg.

The patient has gone into cardiac arrest, the veterinary surgeon has placed an endotracheal tube and as part of the practice protocol you are required to help the veterinary surgeon with ventilation and chest compressions.

For this patient you are required to calculate:

  • Tidal volume (10ml/kg)
  • Minute volume
  • Fresh gas flow per minute

Perform at least one cycle of chest compressions.

Perform at least one cycle of IPPV
